
Yemeng Chen, Ph.D, L.Ac., President of New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine who also the President of National Federation of Chinese TCM Organizations (NFCTCMO), Honorary President of Young Acupuncturists Association of America (YAAA), and Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Complementary Medicine & Alternative Healthcare. He is a successor of Fang\’s Style Acupuncture, an intangible cultural heritage list in Shanghai, China, and also the recipient of China Association of Chinese Medicine Science & Technology Award – Qihuang International Award in 2024.
Presentation Abstract
Establishing the basic theory and treatment principles of acupuncture, Miraculous Pivot listed needle techniques, such as Nine Punctures, Twelve Punctures, and Five Punctures, which are used to treat various illnesses in Chapter 7, On Governing the Needles. These techniques are invaluable in modern clinical acupuncture practice. The speaker will elaborate on the original text of Chapter 7 in Miraculous Pivot and analyze in detail those different needle techniques and their indications. The practical application and manipulations of those needle techniques mentioned in this classic will be also introduced through some commonly seen Bi-Obstruction Syndrome cases based on the etiological factors and corresponding body locations involved.
